It has been nothing but rain and thunderstorms the past few days in New Orleans. So of course on my walk from the parking lot to the office yesterday morning, my umbrella would break. I am always way too loaded down with bags, a lunch, coffee thermos, gallon of water and more, so when I added an umbrella to the mix, it couldn’t end well. Now, I am mourning the loss of my favorite umbrella. It was a gift from my husband when we first started dating 7+ years ago. I was obsessed with Sex & the City at the time and I fell in love with a clear bubble umbrella carried by Charlotte on one of her walks with Carrie.
The husband, being the good listener that he is, tucked away that little tidbit and searched high and low to find me a similar umbrella. For my birthday that year, I was so surprised to open my very own “Charlotte” clear + pink bubble umbrella (similar to this one).
I’ve used it on and off for the last 7 years until this morning, when it stopped doing its job of shielding me from the rain. I have received so many compliments on this umbrella that I’ve decided to try to find something as close to it as possible, or at least as memorable…
