Every New Beginning

A few weeks ago I wrote about butterflies.  Well, actually the post was about change – something I have been experiencing a lot of since then.  I finally feel like I have a minute to catch my breath, bring you up to speed and let you in on the excitement!

They say some of the most stressful times in life can be when you are either moving or starting a new job.  I must be a glutton for punishment because my husband and I are taking on both of these events at once.  *I should add a disclaimer here that explains how this is nothing new to us.  This will be my 4th new job + move scenario since I started my professional career.  But that doesn’t mean it gets any easier.

In short, my husband and I talked long and hard about where we could see ourselves putting down roots, establishing our lives and eventually having a family, and we knew that ultimately we’d like to do all of those things a little closer to home, to family and to friends.  So, about a month ago now, I accepted an offer from a great company in Cincinnati, Ohio and I started just over two weeks ago!  The husband will be joining me here in another couple of weeks (now that I’ve found us a place to live) and we’ll start the process of finding our groove in our new digs.

We couldn’t be happier to be back in a city that we love so much.  I’ve probably mentioned it before, but we’ve had some great times and made some amazing friends in Cincinnati.  And while we don’t expect it to be the same (we’ve changed and we know the city has as well), we’re looking forward to the new memories, new discoveries, and new friends we will make.

In two weeks we’ll say our official good-byes to New Orleans.  It won’t be easy, and I know we will miss so much about that city, but I’m excited for what this new challenge will bring.
